AYUP is the trademark of Gregor McHugh - an artist with enthusiasm for all art forms, creativity and studio work. He expresses a passion for art of any kind and has been producing a strong body of individual work moving fluently between the painting and print studios. As a printmaker working with linocuts, screen-printing, collagraphs and monotype prints, he has also been running printmaking workshops in linocuts at various events for both adults and children and creates prints and greetings cards to sell in shops and at craft markets. AYUP also produces cartoons and illustrates various political and comical ideas. But the main talent and ability is in developing relief prints and abstract expressionism or figurative paintings of a scale and aesthetic effect that is outstanding and at the very heart of the AYUP philosophy. In the last few years AYUP art has been online and on Instagram and recently AYUP has flourished and developed further whilst studying a degree course in Liverpool. Commissions are also available, here is one example of this.
